Aashadhi Ekadashi: A Celebration of Devotion and Spirituality…
Ashadhi Ekadashi was celebrated with great enthusiasm in PTVA’S English Medium School, Andheri on 4th July 2025.
The students were dressed up as little ‘warkaris’ carrying cymbals, Tulsi saplings, and participated zealously.
The programme commenced by offering flowers to Vitthal Rukhmini idol and a Palkhi Poojan.
This was followed by traditional ‘Dindi’ procession of beautifully decorated Palkhi led by an eye catching Lezim Display of students. A few students dressed up as Saints like Tukaram, Dnyaneshwar, Muktabai, janabai, Ramdas Swami accompanied the Palkhi. The warkaris in the Dindi energetically chanted Vitthal Bhajans.
A cultural programme was held in the school hall which included a speech, melodious devotional songs by students and teachers and display of Lezim and traditional games like Fugdi, Gathode, Ringan which were highly appreciated by the audience.
The atmosphere was filled with gaiety and spirituality…..
The celebration encouraged the students to participate in the rich cultural traditions.
The programme concluded with Vitthal Aarti and distribution of Prasad to all.
