Celebrating Nag Panchami: A Festival of Reverence and Awareness.
On 29th July 2025, PTVA’s English medium School, Andheri celebrated Nag Panchami, a traditional festival dedicated to the worship of snakes. The programme aimed to promote cultural awareness, appreciation and reverence of the nature.
A special assembly was conducted by the programme in charge teacher Mrs. Shobhana Madanraj. In her speech, she explained cultural importance of the day and the significant role played by snakes in the environment. Miss Neeti Yadav (Std IV) shared some interesting facts about snakes. The speech was followed by chanting of Nag Stotra and offering flowers to the idol of Nag Devta.
A craft activity was conducted by the Art teacher Mrs. Ashwini Naravane where students prepared snakes by paper folding and using pop sticks. The craft work showcased on the display board was appreciated by the viewers.
An engaging audio-visual programme was arranged for the students in which information was given about the snakes, their habitats, their importance in the ecosystem and some myths and facts about the snakes.
This programme helped students develop a deeper understanding about the importance of snakes in balancing the environment.
