PTVA’s English medium School, Andheri celebrated Deep Pooja, a significant auspicious tradition on 24th July 2025. The event aimed to promote cultural awareness, spiritual growth and environmental awareness of the students. The ceremony began with the lighting of Diyas (oil lamps) with recitation of the sacred verse – ‘शुभं करोति’, a prayer which brings prosperity, health, and wealth and destroys the intellect of enemies.

Programme in charge teacher Mrs. Mihika Kulkarni highlighted the significance of Deep Pooja and its relevance in modern times. She emphasized on using the modern light sources like solar energy powered lights and LED lights as a sustainable replacement for the traditional oil lamps to avoid oil wastage, risks of burns or fires and reduce carbon footprint. There was a fabulous display of traditional lamps as well as colourful LED lights which was appreciated by the viewers.
