Kranti-Jyoti Savitribai Phule : A Celebration of Courage & Empowerment…

On 3 rd January 2026, PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri celebrated Balika Divas, the birth anniversary of Kranti-Jyoti Savitribai Phule with great enthusiasm. The programme aimed to promote girl child empowerment and awareness about their rights. In a special assembly, the Principal offered a garland to the portrait of Savitribai as a mark of respect.
Mrs. Shobhana Madanraj, the programme in charge teacher emphasized the importance of girls’ education and their role in nation-building.
Miss Vaidehi Patil (Std 4) enacted the character of Savitribai Phule in a role-play activity. Miss Sharanya More (Std 2) recited a poem highlighting the brave and pioneering character of Savitribai. Miss Niti Yadav (Std 3) narrated a story of exemplary bravery demonstrated by a young girl. Std 9 students showcased their understanding of social advocacy by preparing vibrant posters
on the theme of girl empowerment, paying their tribute to the pioneering work of Savitribai Phule.
The event promoted awareness and appreciation of girls, encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
