Krishna Janmashtami: A celebration of Devotion and Joy

The Janmashtami celebration at PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri was a vibrant and joyous occasion, filled with devotion and enthusiasm. Students and teachers came together to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna, showcasing their creativity and cultural heritage through various activities.

Programme in charge teacher Miss Jinal Pandya delivered a speech on the occasion highlighting the traditional importance of the festival and its relevance in present, fostering a sense of community and spirituality.

The display board was beautifully decorated with flowers, traditional motifs and students’ handcrafted articles like paper flutes, peacock feathers, colourful clay pots (Handis) that created a festive atmosphere.

Students performed devotional songs, dances and skits based on the life and teachings of Lord Krishna, demonstrating their understanding of the significance of the festival.

A highlight of the event was the Dahi Handi ceremony, where students enthusiastically participated, symbolizing Krishna’s love for butter and mischief.

The event was a testament of the school’s commitment to promoting cultural awareness and values.
