National Mathematics Day
PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri celebrated National Mathematics Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. The day was dedicated to honor the contributions of the famous Indian Mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan on his birth anniversary on 22nd December.
In her speech on the occasion, Principal Mrinalini Mhetre emphasized the importance of Mathematics in our daily lives. The students and teachers then participated in various activities, showcasing their mathematical skills and creativity. Their passion for the subject was evident.
Std 1 students explored fun with addition and subtraction as they took up the Bottle Cap Challenge.
Std 2 Students got engaged with the TANGRAM activity.
Std 3 and Std 5 students enjoyed BINGO with Mathematical operations.
Std 4 and Std 6 students learned currency handling by selling crunchy, cheesy and utterly irresistible snacks like chat items and lemonade.
Std 7 students had a flipped classroom where they worked on models to understand the concepts of LCM, operations on integers, and Polygon Geometry.
Std 8 students displayed their fabulous skills in spatial reasoning and visualization as they meticulously worked on circle geometry.
The day truly inspired the students to develop a deeper appreciation for this fascinating subject.
