PTVA English Medium School, Andheri celebrated International Moon Day with full zeal and enthusiasm
“One small step for man…one giant leap for mankind!’’ uttered Neil Armstrong as he stepped onto the surface of the moon on 20 th July 1969 at 8:18 pm, making history as the first human to walk on the moon. To commemorate this
epic event, PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri celebrated International Moon Day with full zeal and enthusiasm across all the grades.
A special assembly was held under the guidance of Radhika Gupta teacher in which Maitreya Koranne (Grade VII) delivered a speech describing the wonderful journey of Apollo 11 from the Earth to the Moon, the crew, the launching, the landing, what the astronauts did on the moon’s surface, their return journey and splashdown at the Pacific Ocean. Interesting facts about Apollo 11 were shared by Vrisha Panchal (Grade V) whereas Sarthak Parkar (Grade V) shared important information about the recently launched Indian
unmanned lunar exploration mission Chandrayaan 3. It was a thrilling experience for the audience.
Students appreciated the spellbinding picture gallery displaying photographs of Mission Apollo 11 and Mission Chandrayaan 3.
Lower graders added a cheer to the programme with their melodious songs
‘या वा-याच्या बसूनी विमानी…‘ and ‘चंदामामा गोल मटोल…’.

Students watched a special AV program ‘Moon Mission Chandrayaan 3’ which inspired them to explore more about the moon and lunar expeditions.
