Shlokas, Stotras, and Abhangas are an important moral influence in Maharashtra and Marathi literature.

Recitation of Shlokas and Stotras results in a calmer mind, optimized flow of energy, and enhanced mental well-being. Shree Manache Shlok (श्री मनाचे श्लोक) written by Samarth Ramdas Swami teaches us to change ourselves gradually by having a dialogue with our mind. Regular recitation of Ganesh Stotra, Maruti Stotra, etc. is believed to bless the devotee with courage and inner strength. Abhang (अभंग) is a traditional form of devotional and philosophical poetry.

Shree Manache Shlok, Stotra, and Abhang Recitation Competitions were held at PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri on the auspicious occasions of Aashadhi Ekadashi and Guru Purnima in which students across all the standards participated with great enthusiasm. The final round was judged by multifaceted personalities – an eminent Writer/blogger and Social Activist Smt. Sneha Bhatwadekar and a Writer, Poet, Singer, Keertankar Smt. Pranali Patwardhan. The judges explained the correct breathing techniques while chanting Shlokas which leads to the correct pronunciation. Both the judges appreciated the efforts of the young participants, their teachers, and their parents. The winners were given away prizes and certificates at the hands of the judges.
