Tracing our Cultural Roots with Sanskrit…
PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri introduced Sanskrit language to the students of Std. 7 with a beginner’s course – Fun with Sanskrit. This course was curated by Dr. Shreehari Gokarnakar, a passionate Sanskrit Teacher.
PTVA Vice-President Shri. Vinay Jog and Chief Coordinator Mrs. Janhavi Khandekar graced the inauguration programme in April 2023 with their presence. This introductory module of the course included interesting topics like self-introduction in Sanskrit, Sanskrit alphabet, and Rhymes, Sambhashan (Sanskrit Conversation), Games, Songs, and Stotra.
The culmination of this course was arranged on 20th January 2024 and PTVA Director Shri. Pramod Lele graced the occasion. The vibrant programme put up by the students was highly appreciated by the guests which also included parents in attendance. Students showcased their story-telling, communication, singing, and dance skills. The anchoring too, was done in Sanskrit by the students. Shri. Lele appreciated the efforts put in by all the students and specially congratulated Dr. Gokarnakar for his commendable contribution to making the Sanskrit language popular among the young students. Principal Mrs. Mrinalini Mhetre spoke about the connection of Sanskrit with Sanskriti (our culture) and extended her best wishes to the students for their journey ahead with the Sanskrit language.
