World Paper-Bag Day
‘’Why use plastic bags which are hazardous to our nature when we have easy access to paper bags?’’ asked Darsh Salvi (Std. VI) in his assembly speech on World Paper Bag Day observed on 12th July 2023 at PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri.
Harsh Shetkar (Std. VI) gave the oath to the students to use environment- friendly, lightweight, compact, and convenient paper bags in place of plastic bags. Students of Std. IV, V, VI, and VII prepared newspaper bags under the guidance of Art Teacher Ashwini Naravane and the class teachers. Collectively, they prepared 200+ paper bags.
Students decorated these bags with beautiful paper flowers and wrote relevant slogans on them. जाणीव-जागृती – A roadshow and rally of students were organized under the guidance of Shweta Yadav teacher to spread awareness in the neighborhood about the use of paper bags. The enthusiastic students distributed the paper bags to local vendors and urged them to avoid plastic bags.
The vendors responded positively and appreciated the young students for their efforts and contribution to saving our environment from harmful plastic.
