World Tiger Day. Protect the most magnificent creature in the entire world
Don’t strip the stripes from the scenery. Save the tiger. Save the National Animal.
This was the message given by the students who participated in a special assembly held at PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri to protect the most magnificent creature in the entire world, the tiger, on World Tiger Day observed on 29 th July 2023. It was the Nature Club activity of the school to raise awareness about the significant role played by this splendid but endangered big cat in the
ecosystem of the planet.
Shlok Karande (V-A) delivered a speech that mentioned various factors responsible for the decline in the tiger population. Daksh Puthran, Kshitij Shinde, Krishita Naik, Rishvi Mejari (V-A), and Kirti Gupta (V-B) shared some surprising facts about tigers. Swaraj Jadhav (V-A) conveyed advice from the tiger to the students.
The assembly was followed by a rally of students organized under the guidance of the Nature Club in charge Aarti Halbe teacher to spread awareness on how we can work together so humans and tigers can cohabit peacefully. Students wearing tiger masks visited the lower-grade classes. It was a thrilling experience for the little ones as they shook hands with the ‘tigers’.
The spectacular display board showcased some catchy slogans written by the students along with their craft articles like tiger masks, paper-fan tigers, and tiger bookmarks prepared under the guidance of Art teacher Ashwini Naravane.
