“Join the E-Waste hunt, Retrieve, Recycle and Revive…”, appealed Mrs. Rashmi Joshi to the students of PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri. She is an eminent environment activist and a resource person to the Eco Club of PTVA’s English medium School Andheri. This appeal was in compliance with the E-Waste Collection Theme of the year 2024.
E-waste collection drive is a regular activity in the school. Eco Club In charge teacher Miss Shweta Yadav and Student Secretary Miss Nivida Mondkar (grade VII) conducted the drive from 7 th October which culminated on 14 th October 2024, the International E-Waste Day.
Students and parents responded well to the appeal made to them and submitted a variety of E-Waste including desktop monitors, keyboards, cables, appliances, mobile phones, computer parts, etc. and the school managed to gather 22 kilograms of E-Waste which was handed over to a government authorized recycling unit E-INCARNATION RECYCLING PVT. LTD. for recycling them to useful products and appropriate disposal of the unused items.
The school aims to continue working on this project to help the community sustainably manage their E-Waste and protect the environment.
