PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri celebrated the National Space Day on 23 rd August 2025 with great enthusiasm and excitement. The event aimed to inspire students to learn about space exploration, its significance and the wonders of the

universe. 

In her speech on the occasion, programme in charge teacher Miss Sneha Dhasade highlighted the theme of the National Space Day 2025 – “Aryabhatta to Gaganyaan: Ancient Wisdom to Infinite Possibilities” showcasing India’s journey from its ancient astronomical heritage to its modern aspirations in space exploration, symbolizing the country’s progress and ambitions in space technology.

Renowned astrophysicist Shri Mahesh Shetti, Asst Professor and Academic Dean at the Wilson College, Mumbai was invited as a guest lecturer on the occasion. His lecture not only provided valuable insights into the world of space but also inspired students to pursue careers in space research.

Students of grade VII prepared stunning posters that reflected their interpretation of the allotted topics – Rocket Launch in Space, Space Adventure and the Moon with Indian Flag. The display gallery was transformed into a vibrant showcase, featuring the beautiful posters and impressive working models prepared by the students of grade VIII.

Grade VI students creatively crafted various constellations and brought the night sky to life. Grade V students engaged in a hand-on activity, folding origami rockets, which they launched using paper straws, exploring the principles of air pressure and propulsion.

With enthusiasm and flair, students of grade III demonstrated their understanding of the solar system with a creative rendition of the ‘Planet Song’.

The National Space Day celebration was a resounding success, sparking curiosity and interest in space exploration among students. The event encouraged students to think creatively, explore scientific concepts, and develop a passion for learning about the universe.
