A Celebration of Strength and Confidence

“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.” – Michelle Obama

PTVA’s English Medium School, Andhari celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 with enthusiasm highlighting the strength, courage, and achievements of women in different walks of life.

The programme began with a speech by the programme in charge teacher Mrs. Aarti Kalekar, who spoke about the importance of confidence, equality, and the role of education in empowering girls.

A major highlight of the celebration was a Self-Defence Training Session for girls of Standards VI to IX, organised by Atal Seva Kendra in association with the Karate and Kick Boxing Association. The trainers demonstrated practical techniques and safety strategies, helping students understand the importance of awareness and personal safety.

Adding to the inspiration, students of Grade VIII conducted an engaging interview with Mrs. Rupali Kore, a Metro Driver. Through the interaction, Mrs. More shared her journey, challenges, and achievements in a field traditionally dominated by men. Her story motivated students to break stereotypes and aim high.

The female staff members participated in a seminar titled “Financially Empowered Women: Creating Wealth with Confidence” conducted by Skillspade, organised by the PTV Association. The session was led by Dr. Amanpal Singh Chawla, who spoke about the importance of financial literacy, smart investing, and building financial independence for women. The seminar provided valuable insights and encouraged teachers to take confident steps towards financial empowerment.

The programme concluded with a heart-touching video created by a few parents—mothers from our school community. In the video, they read letters written to their younger selves, sharing life lessons, encouragement, and reflections. The emotional and empowering messages resonated deeply with everyone present. The celebration served as a reminder that empowering women means empowering society, and every step towards equality builds a brighter future for all.
