As the UN is celebrating 2023 as the International Year of Millets students of PTVA English Medium School, Andheri (Grade-V) exhibited a variety of food items prepared using millets (jowar, bajra, ragi, etc) as the base ingredient on October 17th, 2023. It was a part of their EVS curriculum. Participating students explained about the range of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, dietary fibres, essential fat and minerals which are present in millets.
The Millet Exhibition was ideated by the school Principal Madam Mrinalini Mhetre and the students were guided by the class teachers of V-A and V-B Miss Aarti Halbe and Miss Jinal Pandya respectively.
Visitors of the exhibition enjoyed scrumptious items like Ragi Laddoos, Bajra Noodles, Mixed Millet Neer Dosa, Bajra Sheera/Halwa, Jowar Bhakri with Usal, Modak made of Ragi, Thalipeeth with fresh, home-made curds and many more.
Students understood the importance of millets as the tiny grains that pack a big nutritional punch. To sum up, the teachers emphasized on the advantages of consuming healthy food to Live Strong and Live Long!
