PTVA’s EMS, Andheri Celebrates Ganeshotsav

Students of PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri celebrated Ganeshotsav with great pomp and festivity. The purpose of the celebration was to let students stay rooted in Indian culture.
The celebration began by offering floral tribute to Lord Ganesha followed by a prayer to invoke his blessings. In a speech on the occasion, Mihika Kulkarni Teacher conveyed a message to be eco-friendly to conserve the environment while celebrating the Ganesh Festival. The Principal Mrinalini Mhetre was very appreciative of the artistic skill of the students of Std. V, VI and VII as they
prepared and decorated clay idols of Lord Ganesha under the guidance of Art Teacher Ashwini Naravane. Students of Std. I to Std. IV showcased their creativity colouring and decorating pictures of their favourite Ganpati Bappa.
The cultural programme started with a devotional song by Srushti Khamkar (Std. IV) and the students of Std. II. Urja Ugvekar and Diyaa Patil (both Std. VI) spoke about the traditional rituals of the festival and recited a Ganpati Shlok.
Students of Std. V, VI and VII participated in श्री गणपती अथर्वशीर्ष पठण competition. The programme ended with chants of ‘गणपती बाप्पा मोरया’ which echoed all around the campus in a festive manner.
