Report: Educational Visit to Nehru Science Center and Planetarium
On 21st February 2026, students from grade V to grade IX of PTVA’s English Medium School, Andheri visited the renowned Nehru Science Center and Planetarium in Mumbai as a part of various activities conducted for the students on the occasion of the National Science Day.
The objective of the visit was to bridge classroom learning with practical, hands-on scientific experiences.
We first visited the Nehru Science Center, which offered interactive exhibits in ‘Science Odyssey,’ a 3D science show highlighting demonstrative stations of Physics concepts. We also visited galleries focused on energy models, marine life, and space, exploring how mathematics relates to science. We visited the hall of Evolution, Hall of Nuclear Power, Fun Science, etc. Additionally, we explored outdoor exhibits featuring the principles of light, sound, and motion.
After a delicious lunch, the visit continued at the Nehru Planetarium where we viewed a show in a dome-shaped sky-theater. The show provided an impressive experience, offering detailed insights into the solar system, stars, and galaxies.
The visit was an informative and enjoyable experience that successfully fostered a deeper appreciation for science and astronomy among us. It provided a refreshing break from classroom routines, blending education with entertainment.
